Your Revalidation Checklist
Everything you need to know before, during, and after revalidation — on one page.
Before You Go
- ☐ Check your current voter registration status online at cvr.inecnigeria.org
- ☐ Note your Voter Identification Number (VIN) — it is printed on your PVC
- ☐ Have your National Identification Number (NIN) ready
- ☐ Gather your documents (see "What to Bring" below)
- ☐ Decide: revalidate online (from home) or in person (at an INEC centre)
What to Bring
- ☐ Your Permanent Voter Card (PVC) — this is your primary document
- ☐ If PVC is lost or damaged: bring your NIN slip or a valid government-issued photo ID (driver's licence, national ID card, or international passport)
- ☐ Optional: a recent passport-sized photograph
Online Option — Revalidate from Home
Complete the entire process at cvr.inecnigeria.org. You will need:
- ☐ A device with a camera — computer, phone, or tablet
- ☐ Good lighting (face a window or use a well-lit room)
- ☐ A clear, plain background behind you
- ☐ Your VIN or NIN to log in and verify your identity
In-Person Option — Visit an INEC Centre
- ☐ Find your nearest centre: use Find Your Centre or dial *89980#
- ☐ Arrive during operating hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 3:00pm
- ☐ Centres are closed on weekends and public holidays
- ☐ Go early to avoid long queues (priority given to elderly and PWDs)
- ☐ Present your PVC/ID, confirm your details, and have your facial photograph taken
After Revalidation
- ☐ Keep your printed confirmation slip — store it with your PVC
- ☐ Check your revalidation status online at cvr.inecnigeria.org
- ☐ Your existing PVC remains valid — you do not need a new card
- ☐ Encourage family, friends, and neighbours to revalidate too
