- Centres are CLOSED on weekends and public holidays
- Tip: Go early in the morning on a weekday to avoid long queues
Lost or Damaged PVC?
If your PVC is lost, stolen, or damaged, you can still revalidate. Attend your nearest INEC LGA office with:
- Your National Identification Number (NIN) slip
- Or any valid government-issued photo ID: driver's licence, national ID card, or international passport
INEC will verify your registration using your NIN and update your biometric record. You may also apply for a replacement PVC during the same visit.
Moved to a New Location?
If you have moved permanently to a different LGA or State:
- Attend the nearest INEC LGA office in your CURRENT location
- Bring your PVC and proof of current address
- INEC will process a transfer of your voter registration to your new polling unit
- Your biometric data will be updated during the same visit
If your move is temporary, you should revalidate at your original polling unit. Contact your INEC state office for guidance if unsure.
I Was Never Registered
This page is for voters who are already registered. If you have never registered to vote, please visit the INEC Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) portal at cvr.inecnigeria.org to begin your new voter registration.
What Happens After Revalidation?
Once your revalidation is complete:
- You will receive a printed confirmation slip — keep this safe
- Your updated biometric data will be stored in INEC's secure database
- You can verify your revalidation status online at cvr.inecnigeria.org
- Your existing PVC remains valid — you do not need a new card
- On election day in 2027, the BVAS machine will use your updated data to verify your identity
No internet? No problem.
